In winter, being unable to ensure supplies, following the actions last year, the enemy failed to fortify several emplacements in the direction of the village of Hunot, Colonel Andranik Piloyan, commander of the fifth corpus of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, told Razminfo.
Colonel Piloyan said every year both the enemy and us carry out works for advancement of positions. According to him, two days ago the Azerbaijani side tried to improve the positions in the intermediate area but the Armenian side did not allow. The colonel added that now the situation is calmer, they fire but those are mainly related to engineering works of the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides.
Last year it was informed based on satellite photos that the enemy advanced in three directions, including the village of Hunot where it carried out preparations for positioning in several places. Then the preparations supposed engineering works, making roads and setting up emplacements with bags filled with soil. Judging by the colonel’s words, the Azerbaijani side failed to fortify several emplacements.
