JULFA

The documentary released by the Research on Armenian Architecture (RAA) NGO presents the history of the city of Old Jugha (Julfa), located on the left bank of the river Arax. It also exposes the annihilation of its renowned medieval Armenian cemetery of thousands of cross-stones by the Azerbaijanian authorities of Nakhijevan.

In 2007 Tiran Karapetian received the Prize of the President of the Republic of Armenia for the documentary Jugha, which also won the First Prize in the nomination of Documentary Films at the International Youth Film Festival Yes Em (It is Me). In March 2013 the documentary won the prize of the Council of the Armenian Films Revival Cinema Centre in the nomination of National Film.
