“In Nakhijevan we control an area equal to that of Yerevan, including the international airport,” Member of Parliament Mihran Hakobyan, Republican Party, said in an interview with the Armenian Time. Two days before he had announced that the Armenian side keeps 20,000 hectares of area in Nakhijevan under control.
Hakobyan told the Armenian Time that there has been a serious change in the defense balance in Nakhijevan and, for example, the capturing of the height of Lele Tepe by the enemy does not have a big importance to the Azerbaijani side.
“After the actions in 2014 the international airport of Nakhijevan and the town has appeared in the area is within firing distance from our positions. Or do we need to measure with a ruler whether it is 20,000 hectares or 17,230 hectares? It is not important. Now about those 800 hectares that is being manipulated, it should be said that we control 15.20 times more territory in Nakhijevan.”
